Past Events
Internationale Spieltage '09
On the 22nd-25th October Reiver Games were at our second SPIEL in Essen, Germany. With no brand new games the show wasn't as successful as last year, but the buzz about our games was good and lots of people stopped by to say they liked our games.
TringCon XIX
On the 3rd October 2009 I attended TringCon XIX in Marsworth, Buckinghamshire, UK. I took It's Alive!, Carpe Astra and Sumeria, plus a few prototypes. Sales were pretty low, but they led to some more down the line and the playtesting of prototypes was very useful.
Demo Day at Eclectic Games
I spent 5th September 2009 demoing at Eclectic Games in Reading. It was a pretty good day, the games were all well received but sales were slower than the ISC one in June.
Demo Day at Inner Sanctum Collectibles
I spent 13th June 2009 demoing my games in the Inner Sanctum Collectibles shop in Cambridge. It was a great day with all three games well received and plenty of copies of all three sold. I'll be doing something similar in a few other UK shops later this Summer.
UK Games Expo
After missing last year's Expo as I didn't have any stock of anything, it felt good the be back on 5th-7th June 2009. I launched Sumeria at the Expo, where it was very well received, winning the public vote for UK Game of the Year (even if it didn't win overall). Looking forward to next year's Expo...
Beer and Pretzels 2009
I attended my third Beer and Pretzels on 16th-17th May 2009. As well as demoing It's Alive! and Carpe Astra I also got to do a whole bunch of play-testing and demo Sumeria a few times. Sumeria was very well received and I hope it does just as well at the Expo.
Spiel '08
I attended my first Essen from 23rd-26th October, with 840 copies of It's Alive!, and prototypes of Carpe Astra and Sumeria. It was a great success, we sold out of It's Alive! picked up four more distributors and took loads of Carpe Astra pre-orders. It was great, but extremely tiring!
Beer and Pretzels 2008
We attended the 19th Beer and Pretzels in Burton Town Hall on May 17/18th. It was a great weekend, I set up the booth selling my last few copies on Saturday and after a strong day of sales I stopped selling and started playing games. Despite this I still managed to sell my last few copies of It's Alive! as well as getting to play a great selection of games with some great people. A brilliant weekend.
MidCon 2007
We attended MidCon 2007 in Birmingham on the Saturday 17th November. Sales and interest were slightly disappointing, but there were a sizeable number of people there who already owned It's Alive!, and we were having to compete with all this year's Essen releases.
The Cast Are Dice 2007
It's Alive! was a great success at The Cast Are Dice in Stoke-on-Trent on 18th/19th August. It was the first convention that I'd attended more than once (having launched Border Reivers there last year) and was a great weekend, with It's Alive! beating my expectations yet again.
Uk Games Expo 2007
The limited edition of Border Reivers sold out at the first Uk Games Expo in Birmingham on 2nd/3rd June. It was the first convention where I'd attended as a proper trader with a booth in the exhibition. It's Alive! was just ready in time and the nineteen copies I'd managed to scrape together sold out in the first three and a half hours!
Beer & Pretzels 2007
Border Reivers was yet again well received at Beer and Pretzels, and this time I got to play it with a few people who either owned their own copy or had played a friend's. I also got to demo the prototype of It's Alive! which led to a few orders of that too.
Psychocon 2006
Border Reivers was well received at Psychocon 2006. Once again, sales were higher than expected and the feedback we received was very good. Although a small convention, it was definitely worth attending - hope to see you there next year!
The Cast Are Dice 2006
Border Reivers was launched at The Cast Are Dice 2006 in Stoke-on-Trent. It was very well received, and sold more copies than we were expecting which was a very pleasant surprise. The event was great fun and very well run by Nick and Sue of Shire Games. We're looking forward to next year's event...
